Baftrack: The Smart Way to Park Your Mount!

I just stumbled upon Baftrack, a neat little utility developed by Christophe Gerbier. What does it do? It automatically parks your ASCOM-compatible mount (including EQMod!) at a predefined time or after a certain duration.

No more needing to manually park your mount at the end of a long night – this program handles it for you! The software isn’t available directly on the author’s website, but you can grab it from the Bafocus Yahoo group (Bafocus being another fantastic piece of software by the same developer).

Christophe even went a step further! He designed a modified version that, with the help of a Phidgets 1064 USB card, can detect a collision between your telescope and the pier, and then immediately park the mount. Seriously, Christophe, what a brilliant idea!
