Meet My New EQ8R Mount, Fresh from Pierro Astro!

Got a pleasant surprise last night when Pierro Astro let me know my EQ8R was ready – after just a week’s wait! I zipped over to Béziers to pick it up and chat with Pierre for a bit; he’s always full of great advice! Just like Mikel’s EQ8, which is now en route to join the team at Deep Sky Chile, my EQ8R received a full check-up and correction. As far as I know, Pierro Astro is the only one offering this level of service in France… The moment I picked it up, I headed straight to Ardèche to get it set up…

My “Teenie Galilei” setup (that’s a Trius H694 on a FLT110 TEC) has found its new home on the mount. I recently gave it a little tune-up, and it’ll be back in action very soon. Polar alignment will have to wait for the next clear, starry night.
