Marian's Setup: Live and Kicking in Chile!
Marian’s Stellar Setup Makes the Leap to Chile!
Marian’s setup has left the cozy confines of Petit Borobia and is now happily installed under the magnificent Chilean sky, specifically in Deep Sky Chile’s Observatory #1. Marian, along with three friends, has formed a brand-new “southern hemisphere” crew: the Magellan Team. Together, they’ll be remotely controlling the gear, processing the incredible images captured in Chile, and splitting the hosting costs.
His personal mount (an Astro-Physics AP1100GTO) didn’t make the journey; it’s staying put at Petit Borobia, ready to host a new setup in the near future… The mount actually sent to Chile is an EQ8, meticulously tuned by the wizards at Pierro-Astro.
The rest of the setup has been extensively tested since its initial installation at Petit Borobia back in July 2017. So, naturally, its deployment in Chile went off without a hitch! Here’s the core gear:
- Astro-Physics AP155 Refractor
- Moravian G4-16000 Camera + Moravian Filter Wheel
- Baader 50x50 L, R, G, B, Ha, OIII, SII Filters
- Sky Meca SkyTrack 3.0” Off-Axis Guider (OAG)
- Starlight Xpress UltraStar Autoguiding Camera
And let me tell you, the initial trials under the pristine Chilean skies are already yielding absolutely stunning results!
