My Observatory's New Backbone (and a Fresh Coat!)

Another Round of Observatory Beam Rehab!

Four years ago, I was already replacing beams in the observatory due to humidity issues! This time, it was a bit less work since only one beam needed swapping out.

Even with the protective measures I had in place, this particular beam just couldn’t handle the weather we’ve had over the past few years. Fingers crossed the new one lasts a bit longer!

While I was at it, I took the opportunity to re-cable everything neatly.

UPDATE 08/23/2017: A little bit of paint and it’s good as new. Thanks, Dad!
