A Fresh Lid for the Observatory!

Friday brought a pleasant surprise: a call from a delivery driver letting me know he was already at the observatory! Just ten minutes later, I was signing for a pallet loaded with all the goodies for the observatory’s new rolling roof: the steel profile sheets, edge trims, ridge caps, and all the necessary hardware.

Saturday, even with a few pesky showers, I managed to get everything installed. I’d snagged a nibbler specifically for this job – it’s a super handy tool for cleanly cutting thin metal sheets, absolutely perfect for this kind of work. The observatory is now properly buttoned up again, and here’s hoping it stays that way for many, many years to come!
