My Observatory Pier Upgrade: Part 2

Time for a Change: Rebuilding My Observatory’s Second Pier!

Back in 2016, I added a second pier to the observatory to host Franck’s setup. Then, in 2017, after he moved to Chile, I modified it to accommodate Marian’s mount and telescope. By 2019, Marian’s gear had joined Franck’s at Deep Sky Chile, leaving that second pier unused for several years. It wasn’t just sitting idle; it was also quite impractical – too tall, too bulky… you get the idea.

So, I decided it was time for a change. My plan? Demolish the old one and build a brand new pier in its place. A few bags of concrete later, and with a new top plate crafted from a brake disc, here’s how it all turned out:
